Annual Show Highlights
Sure it rained on Saturday morning, but we still had a great time! Our 156th Show was a success with lots of highlights. We enjoyed great reviews from families, with over 200 children attending. They enjoyed Fural Arts, great music, Castlemaine Circus, Dog High Jump, Rural Schools Challenge, the new Cardboard Tractor competition (10 entries) CFA Firehouse, Poultry with pat-a-chook (over 100 entries), arts and crafts, face painting and picked up a show bag.
The Morrish Pavilion was the place to be for the rain with cookery, arts, and more.
The Sheep Show decided the Ewe of the Year for the Midlands circuit of shows - all under cover.
Some great utes were on show with tremendous prizes. Two 1930 Cadillacs were on display alongside the latest in tractors.
The Walk, Trot and Lead ring allowed newcomers to develop their horse showing skills while harness and long reining competitors took their heavy horses through their paces.
Meanwhile the Working Yard Dog Trials ran for 2 days with top competition in play.
Sunday was a magnificent day with 110 horses vying for ribbons and championships.
Thanks to our fantastic volunteers, sponsors, and committee for tremendous support.
