Schools at the Kingston Show
The Kingston Agricultural Show offers plenty of ways for local children to get involved - from art, craft and cooking competitions to the Rural Schools Challenge and our Schools Toolkit brings together everything teachers and families need to participate in the 2026 Show.
Rural Schools Challenge
Grades 3 to 6 | Teams of five
A fun, hands on team challenge combining problem-solving, teamwork & practical agricultural activities.
Perpetual trophy and ribbons to be won
Colouring-in Competition
Three age groups
Young artists can get creative with this year’s Your Local Show colouring sheet with a winner selected from each of the three age groups.
3 family passes up for grabs
Children’s Competitions
Preschool to Grade 6
Classes include painting, drawing, photography and decorated boots. Junior cooks can enter decorated muffins, teddy bear biscuits and more.

Children can enter any or all classes in their age group.

Children’s cooking competitions: Free
Children’s Arts & Crafts: Free
Cardboard Tractor competition: Free
Colouring-in competition: Free
Rural Schools Challenge: $10 per team - can be paid on the day -
All entries must have the student’s name, school, grade and category/class firmly attached to the front or side of the entry.
Note if the entrant is home schooled. -
Cooking: All entries are to be delivered to the Morrish Pavillon by 8.30am on Sat 5th Dec.
Arts & Crafts: All entries are to be delivered to the Showgrounds between 8.30am and 5pm on Tue 1st Dec.
Cardboard Tractor: Children and their entries are to be in the Morrish Pavillon by 10.30am on Sat 5th Dec.
Colouring-in sheet: Return entries by 5pm on Fri 27th Nov to your local daycare, kinder, school or library within the Hepburn Shire or email a scanned copy to secretary@kingstonagsociety.org.au -
Entries can be collected from the Morrish Pavillon after 4pm on Saturday 5th December.

Share Show information with staff and your school community
Promote the Show through your newsletter, Facebook page etc
Display the Show Poster and School at a Glance Flyer
Encourage students to enter competitions
Submit entries by the relevant deadlines
Clearly label entries with the student’s name, school, grade and category/class
Nominate a Rural Schools Challenge team
Come along on Show Day and celebrate your students’ achievements

For the Children’s Arts & Crafts competition, a $100 prize will be awarded to the school with the highest aggregate points across all classes. Points will be awarded as follows:
- 1 point for each entry
- 5 points for 1st place
- 4 points for 2nd place
- 3 points for 3rd place
- 10 points for Best exhibit in each age group -
